Research projects
1. Integrated system of precision irrigation and crop protection in conditions of climate change and reduced availability of water resources’ (M16SYN2_00167 AGROWATER www.agrowater.eu) as project coordinator. The aim of the project is to optimize crop irrigation through the application of ICT technologies resulting in a reduction in irrigation water consumption and therefore water resource savings of up to 28% depending on the species cultivation and the protection of water resources and the ecosystem since the over-pumping that contributes to salinization is reduced. The project has a positive impact on the environmental footprint (reduction of carbon dioxide emissions) due to: a) reduction of water and energy consumption, b) reduction of travel for irrigation of crops.
2. Improving the Adaptability of Mediterranean Agricultural Systems to Climate Change: Highlighting the Role of Soil Quality and Microbiome Restoration (RESCHEDULE, Prima2020-08 (https://www.reschedule.eu/ or https://mel.cgiar.org/projects/reschedule) as a Partner. The aim of the project is to evaluate and implement farm practices that are adaptable to local environmental conditions, especially soil health, and which take into account all parameters of adaptability (ecological, social, economic, institutional).

Supply, installation, interconnection, regulation and control of the proper operation of an Early Warning System (S.E.P.) for plant protection and other crop interventions, Contract from 17/1/2022 between ZEN AGRO IKE – MIC S.A. BUSINESS CONSULTANTS in the framework of action Βii.2 of the OEF AS of Palaia Roumata, Meskla Chania, Kantanos Chania, Kroussona of Heraklion, Episkopi of Heraklion, Mountainous Lassithi and Valta of Messinia 2021-2023.
2. Installation and operation of an automatic irrigation needs calculation system and issuance of irrigation advice and sending by e-mail or SMS to producers (contract DO#-E03/2-7-2019 between ZEN AGRO IKE and PROACTIVE AE-BUSINESS CONSULTANTS) in the framework of Action G.I.1 – Technical Support Consultant for Producers for the Improvement of Irrigation Practices and the Action G.I.1/A II 1 – Documentation Study of the Degree of Water Saving in OEF OEF/AS Kritsa, OEF/AS Mylopotamos, OEF/AS Choujsiou, OEF/Green IKE Messaras, OEF/AS Haraka Heraklion 2018-2021.
3. Creation of an informative website on agricultural issues in the Municipality of Kissamos, Crete (www.agro.kissamos.gr), in the framework of the contract 21SYMV009296-2021-09-30 with the Municipality of Kissamos.
4. Installation and operation of a system of smart electric valves, M/S and soil sensors for automated advisory irrigation of oranges and avocados at the company CRETA TASTE in Patelari, Chania based on the contract dated 12/03/2024.
